Instead of our traditional breakfast of a pancake in the number of his age, this year Nolan requested cinnamon rolls. I don't usually like to break tradition, but ask and you shall receive on your birthday. While the cinnamon rolls cooked, Nolan opened his presents from us.
Nolan has recently started reading chapter books and really enjoys reading Captain Underpants books. He was pretty excited to receive the next book in the series.
Ninja turtle gear!!
We recently went to a neighbors house and they had a basketball hoop. Nolan showed quite a bit of interest in it, so I decided to try out the over the door basketball hoop. He thought it was pretty cool.
Chess has perked Nolan's interest, so I bought him a child friendly chess set. The wooden set is equipped with specific instructions, so Bill and I learned to play as well.
Nolan had a great 5th birthday!! My brown eyed baby boy has turned into such a handsome little boy. Nolan has developed his own personality, which much resembles me when I was younger (help us all). He is excelling in school and excited to start Kindergarten next year. The current milestone he is working towards is tying his own shoes! Nolan's 5 year old well visit in scheduled in January.
Happy birthday Pooter!! The nickname has stuck for 5 years, so I think it will be around forever. I love you!
