A Day at Grant's Farm

Early this morning before church, Nolan and Carter were looking through the blog books I had printed.  Nolan and Carter were intrigued by the Grant's Farm entry.  So with the weather being a perfect fall day, my boys and I decided to take a trip to Grant's Farm.  Carter hasn't been there since he was maybe 6 months old and Blake has never been.  After church was over, we made a quick pitstop at home to grab a few snacks, drinks, and jackets before beginning our journey.  Nolan and Carter were really excited!!

Our first stop was to bottle feed the baby goats!  Carter was so excited he could hardly contain himself.  He kept jumping from goat to goat to feed them.  I don't know if the goats were given a sedative or what, but the last time we bottle fed the goats I vividly remember Bill being attacked by the goats and having stiff arm the animals to keep them from devouring Nolan.  Maybe the cool fall weather calmed them down, but they were very relaxed and the boys had a great experience.  Blake was even able to hang out with the goats for a bit.

During the month of October, Grant's Farm is open in the evenings for a spooky night.  There were tons of Halloween decorations and lights, some were pretty spooky.  Bill, Nolan and myself had some fun in the guillotine.

The camels were the next animals to be fed.  Nolan enjoyed the camels the most!!  Nolan would take his time and only give the camel one piece of food at a time to prolong his time with the camel.

On to our traditional photo shoot with the Grant's Farm backdrop.  The boys were being extremely cooperative with photos today!  Nolan and Carter even asked to be photographed by themselves making silly faces.

We took a little break for lunch and relaxed for a few minutes.  After eating our lunch we went into the horse stables to see the horses.  Carter was scared to death!!!  He wouldn't go near the stables.  The main reason I believe he was scared was because of the spooky Halloween decorations in some of the empty stables.  Some of the Halloween decorations were pretty scary for little kids!

On our way to the carousel we saw the elephant!!  Carter was so excited!  He imitated the elephant making noises and spraying water.  Silly boy.

Bill, Nolan and Carter went on a carousel ride.  They had a lot of fun with this as well.  Blakey boy and I hung out and shared some Cheerios while the other boys rode the ride.

The carousel was right next to the goats, so once the ride was over Carter wanted to feed "his goats" one more time.  (I think we know the next animals Papa needs to get.)

Blake and Bill enjoying the ride back to Grant's Junction.

Carter wanted me to take a picture with him and the scary man.

I was so glad we decided to take the boys to Grant's Farm!!  Nolan, Carter, Blake and even Bill did amazing!  No one argued, threw a fit, cried, or screamed the ENTIRE day.  I can honestly say it has been the most relaxing trip anywhere with my guys!  What a great way to end the week or a great way to begin a new week, whichever way you look at it!!
