Christmas Tree Silhouettes

I've seen a lot of pictures on Pinterest with kids and their Christmas tree, so I wanted to try and recreate them.  Has anyone of heard of Pinterest fails?  If not, you have to google them.  They're hilarious.  Most of the attempts I have made at Pinterest ideas do not turn out, but I'm pretty happy with these pictures.  I had to bribe the boys with a few Oreo cookies, but they did well.

So without much ado........

Blakey boy is too little to have silhouettes taken by himself, so I took a few pictures with him.  Nolan wanted a picture taken with me too.

Nolan was the only one who would stand still long enough for a close-up silhouette.

I am absolutely in love with this picture of Nolan and Carter!!  Carter is always looking up to his big brother and this picture captures Carter's admiration for Nolan.

Some individual shots of my boys!

My models were adorable, so not too shabby for an amateur!

A Trip to the Christmas Tree Farm

On Tuesday Bill and I took the boys to Daniken Tree Farm to chop down our Christmas Tree.  Papa, Nana, and Aunt KK met us at the tree farm, so they could pick out their tree too.  Nana stayed in the warm car with baby Blake, since it was so cold outside.  Thanks Nana for hanging out with Blake, so I could snap some pictures and help Bill pick out our tree.

Papa went fancy this year and picked out the new "white" Christmas tree.  Nolan helped Papa cut down the tree with the saw.

Carter had fun walking around and exploring all of the different trees.  It took Bill and I a little longer to find the perfect tree, but we found one.  I told Bill we needed to go bigger this year since last year's tree was short.  We found the perfect tree for our house.  Carter helped Bill cut our tree down.

Family picture minus Blake because it was so cold outside.

We made a safe trip home and unloaded the Christmas tree.  Nolan and Carter love to help open up the boxes of decorations and decorate the tree.  Nolan cut the string off of the tree with his "zizzors"

The boys had their stockings on their feet, running around the house, saying "boots, boots, boots!"  Crazy kiddos.

I took a few pictures of my boys because they're so darn cute!!

Daddy putting on the finishing touches and our tree is done!

Thanksgivings 2014

Wow, Thanksgiving came and went pretty quickly.  Our first family feast took place the Sunday before Thanksgiving at G.G. and Grandpa Tub's house.  The food was delicious and the boys had a lot of fun being chased around the house by their aunts and cousins.  Nolan, Carter, and Blake are the only great-grandchildren on the Chesser side, so they soak up all the attention they receive!

I was a little preoccupied with eating and feeding Blake, so I didn't take as many candid photos as I usually do.  I did however manage to take some family photos.  Thanks to Aunt KK for being patient with the silly boys while taking pictures.

Nolan and Carter truly have a brotherly bond.  All of Nolan's drawings from school have Carter in them.  Nolan even listed Carter as his best friend on the school questionnaire.  It melts my heart to see the love my boys have for each other!

Since, Blake is still little and the flu has been going around, Bill and I held Thanksgiving dinner at our house on Thanksgiving day!  Donna, Rick, Uncle Joe, G.G., and Grandpa Tub came and helped us celebrate.  The only picture that was taken was of the cups Nolan personalized for everyone.  Nolan was proud of himself for being able to help out.

Sunday Snow Day!

Wow, who would of thought the weatherman would be right?!?!  Saturday, small snowflakes started to make an appearance in the sky and accumulate on the ground.  Nolan and Carter kept asking to build a snowman, but I informed them there was not enough snow on the ground.  Instead Nolan and Carter were satisfied with staying indoors and watching Frosty the Snowman on DVD.  Nolan asked if there would be enough snow on Sunday and I told him possibly.

We all awoke this morning to a light dusting of snow on the ground, but as the day continued so did the amount of snow which fell from the sky.  After I returned home from running errands, I told the boys to suit up and they could take their Jeep for a cruise in the snow!! Boy oh boy were they excited. Daddy was super excited to be outside as well!

After a few passes around the yard in the Jeep, Bill asked the boys if they wanted to make a snowman.  Of course, they jumped at the opportunity!!  Carter didn't experience too much snow play last year because he was still pretty little, but today he had a blast!!!  Nolan kept eating the snow instead of helping pack it.  I guess it's a good thing the neighbors put their fence up, because we don't have to worry about "yellow snow" from their dogs anymore.

We weren't really prepared to make a snowman, so we improvised with things around the yard.  Mulch for eyebrows, rocks for eyes and a nose, and pinecone looking things from our magnolia trees.  Luckily we had a scarf and some glasses to throw on the snowman to make him look more studious.

I think the boys did an excellent job!  The first snowman of the year.  Blake stayed inside dreaming of the day when he will be outside with his big brothers and daddy playing in the snow!

Happy first snowfall everyone!!
