Happy Easter 2015

This morning Nolan, Carter, and Blake awoke to their Easter baskets filled with goodies.  After sorting through their baskets Nolan and Carter decided to look outside and see if the Easter bunny left any eggs behind.

It was a chilly morning, but Easter eggs were found.  Nolan had no trouble spotting the eggs and Carter was more excited watching Nolan find his eggs than actually looking for his own.  Towards the end of the egg hunt, Nolan showed Carter where eggs where at and Carter happily picked the eggs up and put them in his own basket.

Blake hung out in the house while the older two hunted for eggs.  Blake thought his basket was pretty neat too, but liked his feet better.

Carter and Nolan were excited to find candy and "monies" inside their eggs!!  Nolan and Carter thought they were cool stuff opening their eggs.  I had to hurry up and take the candy away from them before they ate it all and became sick.  My boys love their chocolate.

Once all eggs were opened and baskets were sorted everyone started dressing for church.  All four of my boys looked spiffy!  The boys all did great at church.  Nolan and Carter were shy at first for the children's sermon, but Aunt KK made sure to make them comfortable.  After Nolan and Carter talked with pastor John and the rest of the kids they went downstairs to color pictures. At the end of church the boys came back upstairs with smiles on their faces.

We were running right on time, so we took family pictures once we arrived back at Papa and Nana's house after church.  My boys being silly and picking their noses, hey whatever makes them smile!!

A delicious Easter lunch was eaten and it was time for all of the cousins to hunt Easter eggs once more.  More candies and monies were found.  Thank goodness for the Easter bunny!!

The afternoon ended with the kiddos playing "crack the egg" on the trampoline.  What a fun day had with family.

 Happy Easter 2015!!

Blake is 6 Months Old

April 1st, marked Blake's half birthday!!  Happy 6 months to our Bakey Boy.  He has his 6 month well visit at the end of the month, but I wanted to go ahead and post his 6 month pictures we took.  Blake is sitting up by himself for longer periods at a time.  He loves to grab his toes and play with them.  Blake is rolling over like a pro and really enjoys laughing at his silly brothers.

Blake doesn't have any teeth at this point, but is chewing on anything he can get in his mouth.  Blake is such a happy go lucky baby!!  He is always smiling and laughing at anyone who makes eye contact with him.  He is a talker too, always babbling to himself.

I have not attempted baby food yet, but it will be soon to follow.  Blake doesn't seem too interested in food at this time so I'm not going to push it.

I wanted to take a picture of the Purcell brothers.  They cooperated for two pictures, which is good enough for me!

Easter Heggs

Yesterday was a good day to stay inside and dye Easter eggs or "heggs" as Carter calls them.  Nolan is such a rule follower!  He used the egg dipper and waited patiently for the egg to absorb the color.  Carter on the other hand, doesn't know what a rule is.  He used his hands and mixed colors every 5 seconds.  Needless to say, Nolan did not want to partake in the egg mixing, so after he completed his 6 eggs he was done.  Carter kept dipping away long after the eggs had absorbed their colors.

Nolan was trying to explain the reason for using the egg dipper.  Carter was pretending to listen.  :)

Boys will be boys and several, if not all, of the eggs were dropped during the coloring process.  That's alright the eggs turned out great!!  There was an egg with "Carter 2015" on it as well, but somehow the writing was either rubbed off or ended up being the egg that was stuck with stickers and not dyed.

Lego KidsFest

Yesterday Bill, Nolan, Carter and myself ventured to Americas Center to explore Lego KidsFest.  Miss Liz watched baby Blake for us so Nolan and Carter could have mommy/daddy one-on-one time. Thanks Liz!!

We arrived right on time to enter LegoFest.  Since the event was sold out the crowd was a bit overwhelming.  Nolan and Carter posed with a few of the sculptures in the Lego Model Museum, but it was so crowded Bill wanted to go into the main part of the exhibit to partake in activities.

First stop the Lego Art Gallery, each kid is allowed to make their own lego art and place it on the wall for display.  The boys worked pretty quickly because they wanted to venture to the next activity, but they were proud of their "art work."

Next stop the race ramps, Carter and Nolan built their own race cars and tested them out on the race ramps.  The boys had a lot of fun doing this.  Carter's car kept breaking apart when it hit the wall at the end of the ramp.  Nolan's car was more aerodynamic and won the races.

The Lego Movie Experience allowed Nolan to guide Benny and his new spaceship to knock down Lord Business, Bad Cop and the rest of the bad guys from the movie.  Carter wasn't tall enough to reach the spaceship.

The Monochromatic Build featured blocks all of the same size and color.  This allowed the kiddos to be creative and see what could be built with blocks all the same.  Carter went straight up with a tower while Nolan built a pyramid.

Carter loved to pose with all of the models placed around the floor.  He would walk up and smile next to every one of them.  Haha Nolan wanted to play more instead of posing.  Carter found an Emmet and WildStyle his size!!

Of course there was a bounce house and blow up slide at this event.  Of all the cool Lego things around, Nolan wanted to wait in a line for 30 minutes to take his turn down the slide.  While Nolan and Bill waited in line, Carter and I went to the Duplo Build Area of the exhibit.  Carter had a lot of fun building towers and walking on the Legos.  He kept looking at me like he was doing something bad and getting away with it.

Nolan said waiting in line was worth the fun of going down the slide.  Each kid was allowed to climb the wall and go down the slide twice.

After awhile of waiting in lines and playing at all the building zones, we decided to make our way back to the front  of the exhibit.  On our way out we stopped at the Big Brick Pile and Nolan was able to build bricks with all the loose Legos.  Carter once again liked walking on all the Legos.

Last stop before leaving was the Lego Model Museum.  The crowd was much thinner and the boys were able to pose with more of the structures.  Carter loved the animals.  Nolan was excited to see Lightening McQueen, Emmet, and WildStyle.  Nolan and Carter tried to lift the hood of Lightening McQueen's car and when they realized it wouldn't open, Nolan ran to the wheels to see if he could see under the hood to the engine.  My boys hang out with their Papa too much! Always trying to work on stuff. :)

Emmet and WildStyle were at the exhibit!!  The boys were both hesitant to have their pictures taken with the Lego stars, but at least Carter smiled.  After we had our pictures taken we went back to the Model Museum and walked up to a model.  Carter started to yell and squirm away from the model.  He thought it was a live model.  After Carter settled down, I couldn't help but laugh.  Both Nolan and Carter do not like characters.

Bill and I had a lot of fun hanging out with Nolan and Carter at LegoFest.  It was neat to see how much the boys have grown this past year.  Mommy and Daddy love you boys!!
