Happy 4th Birthday Nolan!

I know I say this every year, but I cannot believe my baby is another year older.  FOUR, really?  Wow where has the time gone?  I hold Blake and think back to when Nolan was his size.  Okay, enough down memory lane let's celebrate the present!

Bill started Nolan's birthday morning off with the traditional pancake breakfast!  Yummy!  I love that Bill began a birthday tradition which will continue on into the years.

Nolan loves Legos so this year's birthday party theme was Legos!  I had fun making all the decorations and Nolan loved the end result.

I snapped this picture of Nolan after I told him he has to take a nap before his party.  lol  Needless to say he wasn't too happy about the nap.

I had an Emmet birthday shirt made for Nolan's birthday this year.  Emmet is the Master Builder from the Lego Movie.

Guests started to arrive and the party began.  Carter woke up from his nap right before the party and he was extra snuggly.  Blake was able to meet some relatives for the first time and was snuggled too.

Time for cake!!  It took Nolan 4 times to blow out his candle.  Seemed appropriate since it was his 4th birthday!

Carter couldn't wait to taste the Lego cake.  He had been eyeing it all morning.  Carter is such a cutie!! I truly am blessed with three beautiful boys.

PRESENTS!!  Nolan received a lot of great gifts for his birthday.  Carter did pretty good letting Nolan open his presents.  Nolan was excited about every gift he opened.

After Nolan played with all of his toys, he ended the night building Legos.  Nolan specifically asked Liz for Batman Legos.  I have always loved building Legos too.  I read the steps out loud and Nolan puts the pieces together.

Happy 4th Birthday to my loving son, Nolan.  I am so very proud to be your mommy!  You have become a loving, talented, handsome little boy.  I still remember looking into your beautiful gray eyes the evening you were born and thinking to myself, "this child cannot be more perfect."  I love you and the ways you continue to amaze me every day.  Happy Birthday Nolan Henson!  Thank you for the past four years of great memories and I'm excited to see what is in store for you in the future.

I love you,
Mommy

Nolan's Holiday Program

December 18th was Nolan's holiday party at school.  It was also Nolan's first time celebrating his birthday at school.  Nolan took cupcakes for his birthday to eat at snack time with his classmates. Nolan's friends made him feel very special for his birthday. Nolan's class made him a pretend birthday cake, sang "Happy Birthday", and he was given a crown, certificate, and sticker!!

Nolan's Holiday Program took place after school the same night.  Nolan looked so handsome and grown up!  Carter wanted his picture taken too.

Nolan was very shy last year at his Spring Concert, so I was anxious to see how he would do this time.  Miss Carrie told her class if everyone did a good job each student would receive a water bottle filled with goodies.  Nolan really wanted a water bottle and he did a great job!  Nolan kept stealing glances over at us during the program.  Nolan's class sang, "Jingle Bell Rock", "Feliz Navidad", "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", and one other song I can't remember.

Once the program was finished, everyone stayed a little bit for refreshments and pictures.  Carter wasn't cooperating for any pictures.  He was in random spots when the pictures were taken, so he is in them but not really paying attention.  Carter would rather climb on the chairs.  And yes, Blake's pants are unbuttoned.  Blake was a little bloated and uncomfortable so we unsnapped his pants and Blake was good to go.  Thanks to Grandma Donna and Papa and Nana for coming to Nolan's Holiday Program!

The Christmas celebrations have started!

Wow, the month of December sure seems to fly by once the Christmas activities start.  Saturday December 13th, Bill and I took the boys to Emerson for Breakfast with Santa. We were only able to stay for a short time, but the boys had breakfast, took pictures with Santa, and received awesome gifts!

Carter wasn't too fond of Santa, so Bill had to jump in the picture with him.  The photographer asked for the whole family to join in.  Santa was great!!  Nolan was shy at first too, but Santa made Nolan an official "elf" by placing a hat on Nolan's head.  Nolan felt important and started smiling.  Blake was easy going and was passed around for the photos.

Bill was given the photos from Breakfast with Santa at work.  Since I didn't have a digital copy, I took pictures of the photos with my phone.  Sorry the pictures aren't the best of quality.

Next stop, Polar Express at Nolan's school.  Nolan and I were the only ones who went to Polar Express and we had a lot of fun.  There were lots of crafts to make, Miss Carrie read us Polar Express, Nolan devoured some goodies, and Santa made an appearance!!

Looking back, we had a jam packed day on Saturday.  All of us had a lot of fun and enjoyed the time spent together.

Blake's 2 Month Well Visit

Monday December 1st, Blake turned 2 months old, so on Tuesday Blake had his 2 month well visit with Dr. Hulsen.  Blake was measured, weighed, and vaccinated.  My poor baby did not like the shots at all!  He screamed so hard and so long his left eye is bloodshot!  Blake measured 21 and 1/2inches long, placing him only in the 10th percentile for height.  Blake weighed 11lbs 6oz which places him in the 55th percentile for weight.  Dr. Hulsen is not concerned with Blake's length at this time.  She said he will grow!

My little Blakey has been smiling and cooing like crazy!! He loves to tell anyone stories that will sit and talk to him.  Nana is especially his favorite person to talk to though.  My little man is becoming so strong too!  He can hold his head up great and will roll over during tummy time.  Blake loves getting his hair blowed dried after his bath.  It is so funny to watch his crazy hair fly all over the place, while he is smiling and enjoying the warm air!

I may be biased, but Blake is one beautiful baby!!

A few Christmas tree pictures too!  Blake became tired towards the end of pictures, so he took a little snooze in the chair by the tree.

Happy 2 months baby Blake!  I can't wait to see what is in store for you in the future.  Well yes I can wait, I don't want you growing up too fast!
