A Magical Day

This morning, Bill and I decided it was time to venture out of the house and take the boys on a trip.  The trip was to the Magic House!  Nolan is the perfect age to explore and enjoy all the Magic House has to offer.  Papa T tagged along for the fun too.  We're glad Papa came with us because he helped out with Carter when Bill and I wanted to play with Nolan and vice versa.  Papa and Nolan also had play time together as well.

It was gloomy outside, but inside the Magic House it was perfect!  First stop once we arrived was the bathroom for Bill and Papa.  While I waited with the boys, Nolan noticed the row of the alphabet.  Nolan would say the name of the letter and then lift up the door to reveal an item inside starting with the letter on the door.  He did really good naming the objects inside, but when he came to the letter "O" instead of saying, "orange" he said, "cutie."  This gave us a good laugh!  Nolan loves eating cuties at our house.

Nolan was a busy man all day long.  We hit every section of the Magic House and Nolan did not complain once about being tired!  Nolan would play for about 10-15 minutes at each area and then when I told him it was time to move on he said, "okay mommy!"  The Magic House is such a great place for toddler boys, so much to keep them occupied.  Carter was his happy-go-lucky self and had fun too.  Carter is such a good baby, he was along for the ride.

This was a rubber mulch, we need some for our backyard!

Once Nolan has his license, he will be our grocery shopper.  He picked out all healthy food to put in his grocery basket.

Nolan went fishing with Papa a couple of weekends ago, so he was excited to go "fishing" here.  The funny thing was he thought it was a real fish.  Nolan helped me catch the fish, but when I brought the fish up to Nolan for him to take the fish off of the hook he said, "no mama you do it!"  I showed Nolan it was a fake fish, so he decided to remove the fish from the hook and throw it back into the pond.

Nolan helped Bill work on his car a few weekends ago, so Nolan knew what he was doing.  Papa helped Nolan start the lug nuts and Nolan went in with the impact to tighten the nuts all the way.  The toy impact made the noise of a working impact, but the impact wasn't spinning.  The look of confusion on Nolan's face was priceless!  Nolan knew the impact was supposed to spin and tighten the nuts, but it wasn't working.

Daddy and Papa had just as much fun as Nolan did playing with all of the cool experiments.  They're definitely little boys at heart!

Since I have the longest hair out of everyone who went, I took Nolan in to touch the Electrostatic Generator.  This thing was serious business.  I had to touch it because if Nolan let go, something would happen.  The girl working wouldn't explain to me, but it seemed serious.  As soon as the girl turned it on, Nolan grabbed his head and looked worried.  Then he saw my hair and thought it was funny!  Poor Carter's mohawk already stands up, so I didn't take him in.

In the Bubble Room, Nolan and I made a huge bubble go all the way around us!  I will definitely be doing this during the summer with a hula hoop.

Nolan Purcell has more of a Construction Foreman ring to it....

After about 3 hours at the Magic House, everyone was exhausted.  Carter fell asleep right before we left.  We packed up and headed home.  Nolan fell asleep in the car before we were on the interstate.

What a fun day full of memories!

Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary G.G. and Grandpa Tubus!

This past weekend, Bill, Nolan, Carter, and myself helped G.G. and Grandpa Tub celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary back home!  Bill and I made a slideshow to present during the party and it was a lot of fun looking back at pictures I've never even seen before.  We had a great time celebrating and spending the weekend with our family.  G.G.'s sister, Aunt Pat, even flew in from Texas!

Saturday night, we had dinner with the Chesser family at the Country Club.  Everyone had a great time and lots of photos were taken.   Poor Grandpa Tub always surrounded by women, he was starting to become annoyed by the end of the 40th picture. :)  There was a live band playing downstairs and Nolan loved the music.  Nolan has really good rhythm too.  Nolan would tap his hand on his knee and say, "I listenin' to music mama!"

Well we all had a great time Saturday night, but went to bed at a reasonable hour so we would be ready to decorate Sunday morning.  Decorating went great and the country club looked beautiful!  Nana, Aunt Becky, and Aunt Julie went above and beyond with the decor.  The cake and cupcakes were amazing too!!  G.G. and Grandpa Tub had an amazing turn out, they're loved by many people!!  Of course, lots of pictures were taken on Sunday as well.

Nolan and Bill loved the cupcakes!!
 These two look related

After Nolan had his fill of cupcakes, the sugar kicked in and he went nuts.  Nolan was running all over the place.  Usually Nolan is reserved when meeting new people, but I think he talked to almost everyone at the party.  Bill took Nolan down to the putting green, where Nolan practiced putting.  He had a blast out on the green!

Since everyone was dressed to the nines, more pictures were bound to be taken!  Nolan was over pictures and wouldn't cooperate.  Carter however was hamming it up for the camera.

Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary G.G. and Grandpa Tub!  We love you very much.

Carter is 7 Months Old!

Carter turned 7 months old on April 19!  I measured and weighed Carter at home since he doesn't go back to the pediatrician until his 9 month well visit.  Carter weighed 19 pounds 6 ounces and measured 27 inches long.  Carter is the life of the party!  He's so much fun to be around and Nolan loves playing with his "brodder."  What a busy month April has been for Carter.....

Carter played in the turtle pool when it was really warm outside at the beginning of the month.  Carter loved splashing around in the water!  He would kick his feet to make the water splash and laugh when the water would go everywhere.  Big brother Nolan showed Carter the best way to play in the pool.

We helped daddy celebrate his 28th birthday on April 10th.  Carter has had not one, but FOUR top teeth come in.  Other than a few days of fussiness one wouldn't even know Carter was teething because he always smiles.  Carter has also continued trying new baby food, which hasn't been the smoothest of processes.  Carter still prefers breast milk, but I think because he is a mommy's boy and likes to cuddle.

 Happy Birthday Daddy!

 Peas....yumm-o

Carter is a very active little boy.  He rolls all over the living room when he wants to move.  Carter is the master at planking the ground too.  haha  He is always raising his arms and legs up and rocking back and forth.  I tried doing this the other night and couldn't hold it for more than 15 seconds!  Don't let those rolls fool you, underneath is an 8 pack.  Carter is also pushing up a lot!  He is sitting up for longer periods of time unsupported as well.

Top teeth!  I was only able to take pics of 3 of them, but there are 4.

We have finally come up with a nickname for Carter!  Since, Carter is growing hair quicker down the middle of his head, he looks as if he has a mohawk.  Hence Carter's new nickname, Mo!  Not to be confused with Moe from The Three Stooges.

The "Mo"

Happy 7 month birthday baby boy! I love you so much.

Carter's 6 Month Well Visit

Today Carter visited Dr. Hulsen for his 6 month well visit.  Carter was weighed, measured, and received his vaccines.  Carter weighed in at 18.11 pounds, which places him in the 70th percentile for weight and measured 27 inches long, which places him in the 75th percentile for his height. Dr. Hulsen gave me the go ahead with baby food, so I will feed him tonight.  I'm sure Carter is excited because he is always grabbing at our food when we eat.  Carter received some baby food from the E.B., so we have plenty to start with.  The only question is, fruit or veggies first?

Carter is not only a happy baby, but an extremely CUTE baby!  I know I may be biased, but he's adorable.  His personality adds to his cuteness.  He sure knows how to put on the charm and smile with those baby blues.  Carter is starting to sit by himself for longer periods of time.  He enjoys doing push ups and rolling over too.  Pretty soon Carter will have four new teeth on top as well.  They're so close to coming through his gums.

Well, I decided to go with veggies for food.  I chose sweet potatoes for my sweetie!  At first, Carter didn't know what to think.  He would make a grimace and then open his mouth for more!  After awhile Carter began to take the spoon from my hand and shove the spoon into his mouth.  Silly boy!

After feeding himself, Carter started to become messy.  Messy equals fun!!!  Carter is adorable even with food all over his face.  I stopped feeding Carter once he ate half of the container because I didn't want him developing a belly ache.

Happy Half Birthday Carter Lynn!!  We love you so much!!
