Lego KidsFest

Yesterday Bill, Nolan, Carter and myself ventured to Americas Center to explore Lego KidsFest.  Miss Liz watched baby Blake for us so Nolan and Carter could have mommy/daddy one-on-one time. Thanks Liz!!

We arrived right on time to enter LegoFest.  Since the event was sold out the crowd was a bit overwhelming.  Nolan and Carter posed with a few of the sculptures in the Lego Model Museum, but it was so crowded Bill wanted to go into the main part of the exhibit to partake in activities.

First stop the Lego Art Gallery, each kid is allowed to make their own lego art and place it on the wall for display.  The boys worked pretty quickly because they wanted to venture to the next activity, but they were proud of their "art work."

Next stop the race ramps, Carter and Nolan built their own race cars and tested them out on the race ramps.  The boys had a lot of fun doing this.  Carter's car kept breaking apart when it hit the wall at the end of the ramp.  Nolan's car was more aerodynamic and won the races.

The Lego Movie Experience allowed Nolan to guide Benny and his new spaceship to knock down Lord Business, Bad Cop and the rest of the bad guys from the movie.  Carter wasn't tall enough to reach the spaceship.

The Monochromatic Build featured blocks all of the same size and color.  This allowed the kiddos to be creative and see what could be built with blocks all the same.  Carter went straight up with a tower while Nolan built a pyramid.

Carter loved to pose with all of the models placed around the floor.  He would walk up and smile next to every one of them.  Haha Nolan wanted to play more instead of posing.  Carter found an Emmet and WildStyle his size!!

Of course there was a bounce house and blow up slide at this event.  Of all the cool Lego things around, Nolan wanted to wait in a line for 30 minutes to take his turn down the slide.  While Nolan and Bill waited in line, Carter and I went to the Duplo Build Area of the exhibit.  Carter had a lot of fun building towers and walking on the Legos.  He kept looking at me like he was doing something bad and getting away with it.

Nolan said waiting in line was worth the fun of going down the slide.  Each kid was allowed to climb the wall and go down the slide twice.

After awhile of waiting in lines and playing at all the building zones, we decided to make our way back to the front  of the exhibit.  On our way out we stopped at the Big Brick Pile and Nolan was able to build bricks with all the loose Legos.  Carter once again liked walking on all the Legos.

Last stop before leaving was the Lego Model Museum.  The crowd was much thinner and the boys were able to pose with more of the structures.  Carter loved the animals.  Nolan was excited to see Lightening McQueen, Emmet, and WildStyle.  Nolan and Carter tried to lift the hood of Lightening McQueen's car and when they realized it wouldn't open, Nolan ran to the wheels to see if he could see under the hood to the engine.  My boys hang out with their Papa too much! Always trying to work on stuff. :)

Emmet and WildStyle were at the exhibit!!  The boys were both hesitant to have their pictures taken with the Lego stars, but at least Carter smiled.  After we had our pictures taken we went back to the Model Museum and walked up to a model.  Carter started to yell and squirm away from the model.  He thought it was a live model.  After Carter settled down, I couldn't help but laugh.  Both Nolan and Carter do not like characters.

Bill and I had a lot of fun hanging out with Nolan and Carter at LegoFest.  It was neat to see how much the boys have grown this past year.  Mommy and Daddy love you boys!!

Blake is 5 Months Old

Baby Blake is 5 months old!!  Blake enjoys practicing sitting up by himself, rolling over onto his side, and sleeping in his crib at night.  Blake is chewing on everything he can put into his mouth, but his favorite thing to chew on is his fingers.  Blake has not had any teeth pop through his gums, but he's working on them.

I measured and weighed Blake at home since his next appointment is his 6 month well visit.  Blake weighed 16 pounds and measured 24 inches long.  My little man is turning into a chunky monkey.  I'm glad he's filling out because he was a little shrimp when he was born.  Momma's milk does the baby well. :)

Blakey boy loves to smile and laugh.  Blake goes with the flow around our house and is the perfect baby.  Nolan and Carter adore Blake as well.  Carter is always checking on "my bakey".  Nolan loves to make Blake laugh just by looking at him.

I love this picture of Blakey in his basket.  Haha He doesn't look very impressed if you ask me.

Happy 5 months baby Blake!  We love you so much!!

March Madness

March is a busy month for birthdays!  Great Grandma Beeler and Great Grandpa Tub both celebrated their birthdays this past weekend.  The boys had a lot of fun playing with their relatives and eating delicious foods.

On Saturday, Great Grandma Beeler's birthday party took place at Grandma Donna's.  Carter had a blast "cooking" pigs, horses, and lots of other wild animals in the oven.  Nolan enjoyed playing "office" and regulating everyone's paperwork.

Blake thought Great Uncle Joe was a funny guy too!!

I had to snap a picture of Nolan in action.  When he concentrates on any paperwork, Nolan always has his mouth hanging wide open.  Bill and I call him Papa Dave. :)

On Sunday, Great Grandpa Tub's birthday party took place at his and G.G's house.  Carter enjoyed putting puzzles together with Gpa Tub, while Nolan enjoyed completing word searches with G.G.  Blake had fun looking at himself in the mirror and hanging out with Aunt KK.

Happy birthday to two GREAT people!!!
