Blowing Off Some Stink

Growing up I was always told "get outside and blow off some stink!"  I never really thought too much into this saying, but yesterday that is exactly what my boys and I did!!  The sun was shining and the temperature reached 65 degrees!! It might as well have been mid August. :)  Bill, the boys, and I received some much needed fresh air by taking a trip to the zoo.  We arrived at the zoo shortly after it opened.  All of the animals were out and about either napping, playing, or entertaining the zoo visitors.  I've never seen so many animals out before.  This was Carter's first visit to the zoo were he actually enjoyed and understood what was going on.  Carter's face lit up each time he saw a different animal.  Carter would point and scream with delight.  Nolan enjoyed the zoo too, but wouldn't let me take his picture.

The only thing Carter didn't like about the zoo trip was the giant statue of the ape.  I wanted to get a picture of Carter sitting on the ape, but as soon as I got close to the statue Carter started to shake, grab me for dear life, and cry!  Poor buddy.

Carter really likes Thomas and Friends, so we took a round trip ride on the zoo train!  Both boys really enjoyed the train.  It was almost nap time, so Carter was relaxed and he almost fell asleep.  Until the dark tunnels came up, Carter did NOT like the dark tunnels.

After the train ride we headed home.  We covered almost the entire zoo and saw almost every animal.  The penguin exhibit was closed, which kind of stinks because I think Carter would have gotten a kick out of them!  We definitely received lots of fresh air and vitamin D!!  No more stench of being inside for a month.

Catching Up

Wow, almost a month has went by since my last post!!  This cold weather has left me in a state of not wanting to do anything.  Because the weather has been so nasty, we haven't been doing too much.

Nolan had his first Valentine's Day party at school and had a lot of fun.  Nolan made a monster Valentine's Day box to take to school to collect all of his valentine's.  Nolan chose Lightening McQueen valentine's to hand out to his friends.

Another reason I haven't felt up to doing much is because Bill and I found out we are expecting our THIRD child.  I had an ultrasound on Thursday and my official due date is October 5, 2014!!  Nolan and Carter are excited to be big brothers and they're practicing being gentle with their stuffed animals.  Liz, Carter's daycare provider, is having Carter practice with baby dolls, so he can be ready to be a great big brother.  Nolan wants another baby boy and said his name is going to be "Poop."

That's really the entire month of February!  I've been sleeping a lot and poor Bill has been a single parent lately.  Nolan and Carter have really seemed to grow up a lot!  Nolan enjoys school so much and always comes home with exciting stories about his day.  Carter is talking a lot more and starting to play with Nolan instead of bothering him.
