Merry Christmas 2014

We celebrated Christmas several times this year, which was nice.  Everyone was able to enjoy the low-key Christmas with the boys and we weren't running from place to place all in one day.  Joe came over the night before he went back to Chicago to open presents.

Christmas Eve, the boys and I traveled to Memaw and Boppy's house to open presents.  The boys had a lot of fun playing with Bekah.  Boppy made a delicious dinner too.  The kiddos were too active to take pictures, but I was able have the boys sit for a Purcell guys picture.

Christmas Eve night marked the beginning of a new family tradition.  Bill and I decided to start a movie night box.  The present consisted of new pajamas for the entire family, popcorn, a movie, hot chocolate, and candy.  The boys looked adorable in their matching jam-jams!  The movie we watched was "How to Train Your Dragon 2."  After the movie ended, everyone settled in for a long winter's nap, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would appear.

Christmas morning arrived not a moment too soon, Nolan and Carter couldn't wait to go downstairs and see what Santa had left them.  The boys must have been pretty good this year, because Santa left them lots of goodies.  The boys played with their new toys for a couple of hours then we showered and headed up to G.G. and Grandpa Tub's house for Christmas lunch and more presents.

Everyone devoured the delicious lunch and desserts prepared!!  The boys were super excited to open more gifts.  Carter and Nolan loved showing off their gifts and playing with their relatives.  Blake slept almost the entire 4 hours we were at the Chesser's.  Luckily, Blake woke up for a picture.

Since everyone was home for the holidays it was a perfect opportunity to take pictures!

It was past naptime for Carter and Nolan, so we left Chesser's and headed to Papa and Nana's to take naps before going to Young's Christmas in the afternoon.  The naps were refreshing and the boys were ready to go for round two.  Poppy and Meme have lots of great grandkids, so the boys had a lot of fun chasing their cousins around the house.  Hence the reason for not very pictures.  The kiddos were way too active to get pictures.  Another delicious dinner was eaten and more desserts devoured.

Whew, after a long day which consisted of two Christmas' we were ready for bed.  The next day was Christmas with Papa and Nana.  The boys were once again showered with gifts, a yummy breakfast, and a beautiful day to play outside on the farm with Papa and daddy.

Bill received the "step and go" stool from Aunt KK and Jimmy! He was super excited and his colon has never felt emptier.  haha

December 27th was our last Christmas celebration at the Funderburk's with Grandma Donna.  Grandpa Rick was secluded in the basement because he wasn't feeling well.  The boys had a lot of fun playing with their presents and having a tea party.  Donna made a yummy shepherds pie for lunch.  Blake started to become crabby and everyone was ready to be home at last, so we packed up and ventured back to Edwardsville.

This is the first Christmas with everyone being healthy and able to celebrate to the fullest!!  The boys are truly blessed to have such loving family in their lives.  Thank you to everyone who helped make their Christmas extra special!!

Happy 4th Birthday Nolan!

I know I say this every year, but I cannot believe my baby is another year older.  FOUR, really?  Wow where has the time gone?  I hold Blake and think back to when Nolan was his size.  Okay, enough down memory lane let's celebrate the present!

Bill started Nolan's birthday morning off with the traditional pancake breakfast!  Yummy!  I love that Bill began a birthday tradition which will continue on into the years.

Nolan loves Legos so this year's birthday party theme was Legos!  I had fun making all the decorations and Nolan loved the end result.

I snapped this picture of Nolan after I told him he has to take a nap before his party.  lol  Needless to say he wasn't too happy about the nap.

I had an Emmet birthday shirt made for Nolan's birthday this year.  Emmet is the Master Builder from the Lego Movie.

Guests started to arrive and the party began.  Carter woke up from his nap right before the party and he was extra snuggly.  Blake was able to meet some relatives for the first time and was snuggled too.

Time for cake!!  It took Nolan 4 times to blow out his candle.  Seemed appropriate since it was his 4th birthday!

Carter couldn't wait to taste the Lego cake.  He had been eyeing it all morning.  Carter is such a cutie!! I truly am blessed with three beautiful boys.

PRESENTS!!  Nolan received a lot of great gifts for his birthday.  Carter did pretty good letting Nolan open his presents.  Nolan was excited about every gift he opened.

After Nolan played with all of his toys, he ended the night building Legos.  Nolan specifically asked Liz for Batman Legos.  I have always loved building Legos too.  I read the steps out loud and Nolan puts the pieces together.

Happy 4th Birthday to my loving son, Nolan.  I am so very proud to be your mommy!  You have become a loving, talented, handsome little boy.  I still remember looking into your beautiful gray eyes the evening you were born and thinking to myself, "this child cannot be more perfect."  I love you and the ways you continue to amaze me every day.  Happy Birthday Nolan Henson!  Thank you for the past four years of great memories and I'm excited to see what is in store for you in the future.

I love you,
Mommy
