Merry Christmas 2013!

Christmas this year wasn't the best.  Both Nolan and Carter have been sick for the past few days.  Carter developed an ear infection on Monday and Nolan caught a virus Christmas Eve.  Carter finally started feeling better on Christmas Eve, and then Nolan awoke Christmas Eve with a fever!  After some medicine Nolan mustered up the energy to feed the reindeer, leave cookies and milk out for Santa, and read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.  Nolan even humored mommy with a few smiles for the camera.  Carter is a ham in front of the camera!

Christmas morning Nolan slept in until 8:30 and Bill had to wake Carter up at 9:00!!  The boys never sleep in past 7:00.  The boys really enjoyed their gifts Santa brought them and had fun playing before we headed to G.G. and Grandpa Tub's house.

Since there were no little kiddos at G.G. and Grandpa Tub's Nolan wasn't placed in quarantine.  Nolan and Carter had a lot of fun playing with their gifts and hanging with relatives!  Nolan made ornaments for all of the grandparents and great-grandparents for Christmas.  G.G. and Grandpa Tub showed Nolan where they put his ornament at on their tree.

Meme and Poppy's house had a lot of little cousins running around, so Nolan was placed in Christmas quarantine at Nana and Papa's.  Bill and I took turns staying at Nana and Papa's with Nolan.  After Nolan and I took a 3 hour nap together I went over to Meme and Poppy's to eat and visit with family.

Nana and Papa came back over so we could all open presents from each other before we headed back home.  The boys were loaded with gifts once more.  The back of our car was packed with goodies.  Bill drove home, while the boys and I slept in the back.  Christmas was a long celebration this year, but hopefully everyone will be on the mend soon and we can enjoy playing with all of the great goodies!

Merry Christmas 2013!

Happy 3rd Birthday Nolan Henson!!

Happy 3rd Birthday to my adorable, silly, funny, stubborn baby boy!!  I cannot believe I have a 3 year old child.  It really hit home last night how grown up Nolan is becoming.  Bill and I were sitting at the dining room table talking to Nolan in full conversation about different subjects.  It's amazing how smart he is and how much he understands!

This morning Nolan awoke to a personalized home-made pancake, courtesy of daddy!!  Daddy was thinking of Carter and myself too because we had a stack of flapjacks awaiting our forks.

After our pancakes were devoured, Nolan and I went to have his 3 year pictures taken.  Papa and Aunt KK came down to watch Carter, so Nolan and I could spend a few hours hanging out just the two of us together after his pictures were taken.  Nolan's pictures went good and Nolan chose to go to the Children's Museum.  Nolan loved playing with all of the different stations!  Nolan was a fireman, banker, and post master all in one day!

Nolan really liked building with the magnet tiles and slapping the sandals on the different pipes to make music.  Nolan even busted out his beat boxing skills, while slapping the sandals on the pipes.

Nolan worked up quite an appetite from all of the playtime he had.  Papa, Aunt KK, and Carter took us out to eat for lunch at Bread Co.

Nolan is independent more than ever now.  He wants to do everything himself.  Every night we read books before bedtime.  After I've read three books to Nolan, he rereads the books to me.  I'm sure most of it is from memory, but it's neat to see how excited Nolan is because he is "reading."  Nolan really enjoys singing too!  He is just like me.  I sing even though I don't know all of the words. ;)

Nolan is very stubborn, like his daddy, but has the kindest heart!  Nolan is growing into an amazing little boy and I know he's going to do big things in the future!

Happy 3rd Birthday Poot!!  I love you very much.

Nolan's Construction Birthday Party!

This afternoon we celebrated Nolan's 3rd birthday with a construction theme party! Nolan enjoys building with legos and blocks, reading about construction vehicles, and playing with construction toys!  I think Nolan is going to be a great engineer someday.  Nolan has progressed from building a single house to now making a full town and playing with people in the town he made.  What an imagination my little boy has.

This year for Nolan's party I decided to keep it low key.  Inviting only the grandparents, great grandparents, uncles and aunt, as well as a few close friends.  Due to the Christmas season and office parties only a few grandparents and great-grandparents were able to attend Nolan's party.  Nolan still had a blast seeing everyone and eating cake!

Last night Nolan and I stayed up to make his birthday signs and decorate the house with caution tape!  Nolan and I had a lot of fun decorating.  We are going to leave the decorations up all week until Nolan's actual birthday on the 20th.

Papa literally "dug in" to Nolan's cake with the front loader.  Nolan thinks anything Papa does is great, so Nolan took a bite of icing out of the scoop too.  Nolan gave a thumbs up for the cake and ice cream!

Nolan received great gifts for his birthday.  Nolan is always drinking out of mine and Bill's Tervis cups, so Carol gifted Nolan his very own Lightening McQueen Tervis cup!  Nolan was so excited, he shouted, "A coffee cup!!"

Carter was excited about Despicable Me 2

Nolan had a great birthday party and continued playing with his waffle blocks until bedtime!!  Thanks to everyone for helping Nolan celebrate his 3rd birthday.

Happy Birthday baby boy! I love you so much.
